Position Announcement

Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year Teacher Education full-time non-tenure track faculty position to teach general teacher education courses. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of teacher education principles and practices as well as several years of relevant K-12 teaching experience. This individual will teach undergraduate courses in teacher education and other courses as deemed appropriate and per their training and experience. This individual will supervise student teachers, interns, and field students in their clinical experience. The position will begin Fall 2025.

Summary of Responsibilities

Teach and prepare undergraduate teacher education courses
Supervise student teachers, interns, and field students
Conference with students regarding coursework, fieldwork, and academic endeavors
Collaborate on department business, including the progression of students in the program
Improve professionally and maintain currency in the courses taught
Follows professional ethical standards

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in a field closely related to Teacher Education
Earned relevant professional license or credentials
At least two years of relevant K-12 teaching experience or related work with K-12 age students.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of college/university teaching experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Knowledge of content and skill required to teach pre-service teacher education courses.
Knowledge and skill in current instructional theory, methods, strategies and techniques.
Knowledge of student management, motivation and evaluation techniques.

Skills

Excellent communication skills.
Skills in interpersonal relationships, problem-solving and decision-making.

Abilities

Ability to relate well with students and colleagues.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a diverse population.
Ability to apply multimedia hardware/software in classroom teaching.
