Job Description
In collaboration with the Director of Student Success, this position coordinates services related to advising and student success programming with the Nashville campus and online students. This position works closely with CSW faculty, recruiters, and staff to enhance the student experience. The position will foster students' creative, intellectual and personal development towards academic success and will interpret and advise students on policies and procedures of the University and College of Social Work. The Academic and Professional Development Advisor will be a critical team member of the College of Social Work Student Success Center. Due to the nature of this position and the responsibilities this position requires a terminal degree in Social Work (MSW/MSSW) and 2 years post-graduation experience.
Responsibilities

- Advising and Professional Student Development
- Student Engagement
- Career Mentoring
- Teaching or Canvas Management
- Serve on campus and/or college wide committees.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work
- Two years of post MSW experience
- Computer literacy and strong skills with computer applications such as MS Office and Zoom; capability to learn various database and student information programs to manage applicant and student files; Excellent communication and writing skills; Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle simultaneous projects, and the ability to respond quickly and accurately to inquiries and requests; Mediation empathy and ability to express self verbally; Commitment to the diversity and inclusive goals of the university; student record keeping; the ability to relate effectively to students, faculty, support staff, alumni and parents.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications
- Position needs familiarity with the social work profession. Ability to work with adult learners. Ability to articulate the depth and breadth of the social work profession as well as articulate the ethics of the profession. Evidence of management, leadership and organizational ability, including multi-tasking. Must accept supervision and guidance.
