Gateway Academy is the first 6th-12th Grade Private Day School in the State of Arizona, specializing in a pure population of students diagnosed with High Functioning Autism and students who are Twice Exceptional. We are seeking a unique High School Science Teacher to add to our team of Warriors, who can teach Biology/Forensics/Physics/Aeronautics. All of our students have a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism, and are kind, considerate, sweet students. Our student to staff ratio is a maximum of 12:1 in High School, which allows our faculty the ability to make a significant difference in our student's social/emotional and educational success! We are accredited by AdvancED, and approved by the Arizona Department of Education. Sensory Integration, Pragmatic Language, Music Therapy, Equine Therapy, Community-Based Experiential Learning and Dog Therapy are integrated throughout our program. Our dynamic program provides students all learning modalities: auditory, visual, manipulatives, and experiential learning.

We are looking for a dynamic High School Science teacher, whose philosophy coincides with ours, and reflects that teaching Exceptional students is a passion and mission, and not just a job. We are looking for an energetic, passionate teacher, who can inspire through active learning, and differentiates their curriculum to the individual student.

Academically our students excel, but struggle with social norms/expectations and sensory triggers.
